October 20, 1930 ~ April 16, 2024 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Tribute

Took her heavenly flight home to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday April 16, 2024. She was born October 20th, 1930 at Victoria Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother William Richard and Lila Rose Craft Ruth, a Brother Harold Richard and Bertha Sue Layne Ruth, a Sister Geneva May Ruth and Franklin “Bud” Delashmitt, a Son Sergeant Major Richard Louis Knox, a Nephew and Two Nieces. She is survived by her Husband Wayne L. Harris of  50 Years, his two brothers Harold (Kathy) Harris, Roy S. Harris and one sister Ada (Bill) Sisson. One son Ronnie H. and Marsha Pollard Knox of Soddy Daisy Tenn. Two daughters, Janice Claire and Jimmy Valdez Sr. of Anaheim Ca. Judy Carol Johnston, Of Rossville Ga. Two Brothers Frank R. and Rosie Tankersley Ruth. Of Chattanooga Tenn. An Adopted Brother Paul Edward and Barbara Vandergriff, Of Brevard N.C. She Has Nine Grand Children and Nineteen Great Grand Children, Five Nieces and Five Nephews. She was a Member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church, was once member of the Choir and a Teacher of the Fidelity Sunday School Class. She was Bookkeeper and Assistant Manager for Gordon Jewelers for ten years. And Manager of Fine and Fashion Jewelry for J.C. Penney Co. for 20 years where She retired.  After retiring She Volunteered at Hospice and Memorial Hospital in the Cancer Center, also served on the Auxiliary Board as recording Secretary, and on to becoming the President of the Auxiliary She served for Twelve Years, Was in the Cancer Center for Twenty-one years.  She was the Founder of River Canyon Avian Service Business that lasted for Thirty years. She was an avid lover for Birds and all Animals.  She Loved Life to the fullest, and loved everyone and never met a stranger, to know her was to love Her.  She will be missed by all who knew Her.

 Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Terry Chitwood officiating. 

Interment will be in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.

In lieu of Flowers Memorial donations may be made to our local Animal Shelters or The Community Kitchen to help feed the Homeless, or any organization for protection of Animals rights.

The family will receive friends Friday from 11 am till 2 pm, at Heritage Funeral Home, and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
