Elaine Gurley

Sylvia “Elaine” Gurley, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2024. She was born on September 23, 1950 in Seabring, Florida to the late Clarence Blount and Janie Hardin. She had recently lived in Fort Pierce, Florida, but had lived most of her life in the Chattanooga area. Elaine was a member of Unity Baptist Church and had retired from Wal-Mart in Fort Oglethorpe after more than 20 years of service. Mrs. Gurley enjoying sewing, baking cakes, was fond of her Poodles and loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Johnny Gurley.

Survivors include her sons, Charles (Donna) McLaughlin, David (Kristin Ritchey) McLaughlin, Johnny Dewayne Gurley and daughter, Melissa Gurley; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel.

The family will receive friends 12-3 PM Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
