As the sun rose on April 2, 2024, Joseph "Joe" Lindell Ramsey, known for his zest for life and love for a good pun, took his final curtain call in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, at the age of 74. Born on the first day of spring, March 20, 1950, in Chattanooga, Joe blossomed into a man who never wilted under pressure.

Joe was a graduate of Rossville High School and the University of Georgia. In his free time, Joe enjoyed playing golf, reading, and was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. He also had a passion for music and was a drummer for "The Early Tymes" during his high school years.

Joe's grandkids affectionately knew him as "JoJo," a testament to the joy and youthful spirit he brought into their lives. His love story with his cherished wife, Sandra, blossomed from a shared moment at a Gary Puckett concert and continued to flourish throughout their years together. Together, they danced through life's ups and downs, never missing a beat.

His professional life was no less impressive, with over 30 years of making dreams come true in Mortgage Banking, followed by an encore in Financial Planning.

Before him, the path was paved by his parents Joseph E. Ramsey and Alyce R. Ramsey, whose reunion with their son is a whisper of the eternal cycle of life and love.

He leaves behind a legacy as vibrant as his personality:  his beloved wife, Sandra Ramsey, his sons, Phillip (Jade) Ramsey, Blake (Andrea) Ramsey, and his kindred spirit Jason (Ellen) Cline. His grandchildren-Olivia and Benjamin Ramsey, Will and Charlie Cline-will carry on his knack for mischief and merriment.

In lieu of customary tributes, Joe’s memory may be honored through contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.

The stage is set for a celebration of Joe's life, where the audience of family and friends can gather and share reruns of their favorite "Joe moments" on April 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will follow at 4:00 PM with Glenn Brock officiating the service, Joe will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
