William "Scott" Cross

William "Scott" Cross, 51, gained his angel wings on April 1, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Kay Bailey Yancy. Grandparents, Donald & Jessie (Bailey) Reed. Cousins, Kristie Bailey & Josh Bailey. Uncles Johnny Bailey, Glenn Bailey & Doug Ellis.

He is survived by his brother, Lamar Rogers (Tammy), sister, Cindy Armstrong (Chuck) and sister, Beth Sosebee (Nick), stepdad, Edwin Yancy, aunt, Sherry Ellis, Cousins DJ Bailey & Jennifer Bailey Watson. Several nieces and nephews.

Scotty was indeed a special person. If you knew him it made you a better person. He loved the ladies and didn't mind letting them know. Scotty was born with a severe form of Cerebral Palsy and spent his entire life in a wheelchair. He had a great laugh and loved to "holler" at you to get your attention and then smile. He will be missed.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the care givers at Open Arms in Snow Hill for their love and kindness to Scotty over the last 33 years. It's not often that you can say you have 2 families who love you as much as well loved him. Each and every one at Open Arms loved Scotty and gave him the best care. They were a true blessing. He lived a great life of adventure while at Open Arms and for that we are truly grateful. You could say that he loved John Giles more than his birth siblings and it wouldn't hurt our feelings at all because we were blessed that John loved Scotty just as much as we do.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow at TN-GA Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 11-1 PM Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
