Barrett, 80, Ringgold departed this life to be with her Lord and join her family in Heaven, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in a local health care facility in Chattanooga. Bernice was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Catoosa County, GA. She was a dedicated Christian servant and a precious and loving wife and mother. Bernice is survived by her husband of 63 wonderful years, Dr. Telford Barrett; son, Merv Barrett, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Merv Barrett, Jr. and Cheryl, Michael Barrett and Sarah; sisters, Sue Palmer, Clarksville, GA, Bonnie Black, Acworth, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday in the chapel with Rev. Danny Henson officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery.
