Name: Dorothy Reynolds Long Date: May 7th, 1922 - February 2nd, 2010 Obituary: Dorothy Reynolds Long; 87, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in a local hospital. Mrs. Long was retired from 3M Company and GE Company in 1987. She was a member of Tiftonia Church of Christ and she was the second oldest living member. She was a loving wife, mother, and devoted sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Alice Reynolds; sisters, Rebecca Bledsoe, Sallie Loveday, May Clark, Lula Beene, Corrine Housley, Margaret Huckabee, Virginia Ruth Reynolds; brothers, James Reynolds, Claude Reynolds Jr.; and husband of 51 years, James D. Long. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Dianne Long, Chattanooga, TN; sister-in-law, Louise Hulvey; several nieces and nephews; and devoted neighbors, the Delaney family and the Tippett family. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday at Tiftonia Church of Christ with Minister Edgar C. Beard, Minister Jeff Brown, and Minister Jack James officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens West with Mark Schock, Johnny Huckabee, Lamar Hulvey, Mark Delaney, Ron Delaney, and Atlee Beene serving as pallbearers. The family would like to thank caregivers Sandra Goines, Scharlon Walden and Gaylynn Walden for their care and compassion during Mrs. Long's illness and special thanks to Dr. Gandhi, his staff and Parkridge Medical Center staff on 4 West.
