Name: Charles Robert Holcombe Date: June 21st, 1944 - February 2nd, 2010 Obituary: Charles Robert Holcombe, 65, of Tiftonia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Holcombe was retired from BASF after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and the Believers Sunday school class. He was the son of the late Oscar Holcombe and Dorothy Johnson. He will be remembered as the most loving and generous father a family could have. Survivors are his loving wife of 46 years, Frances Holcombe; daughter, Kelly (James) Canning, Hixson; two sons, Chuck (Mary) Holcombe, Houston, TX and Wade (Jennifer) Holcombe, Hixson; special cousin, Janet Marks, Flintstone, GA; grandchildren, Mandi and Cody Pell, Cassie (Ed) Eldridge, Brittney Holcombe, Jaden and Amber Holcombe; step-grandchildren, Matt and Brianna Canning; great-grandson, Claude Edward Eldridge V (Little Eddy), step-great-granddaughter, Camri Eldridge. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am in the chapel with Rev. Shad Smith officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, West.
