Janie Mae Meers, 72, Canton, Ga., died Saturday, February 6, 2010, at her residence. She had lived in Ringgold from 1977 to 2005, before moving to Canton. Mrs. Meers was of the Baptist faith and was an avid crafter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Meers; and three half-brothers, Paul Tucker, Shamlin Tucker and Marvin Tucker.
Survivors are her son, James M. (Kayla) Meers, Kennesaw, Ga., Neal (Marsha) Meers, Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.; daughter, Brenda (William) Wyatt, Winder, Ga.; brother, J. R. Tucker, Trion, Ga. several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at National Cemetery with Rev. Russell Swafford officiating.
