Name: V.T. George Date: March 19th, 1935 - February 7th, 2010 Obituary: V.T. George (George Thomas Vallyakalayil), 74, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 7, 2010. Mr. George was born in Ezhumattor, Kerala, India on March 19, 1935. During his lifetime, Mr. George was a devoted husband and father. As the son of pioneering evangelicals, Pastor V.V. Thomas and Mrs. Aleyamma Thomas, in Kerala, India, Mr. George supported many Christian ministries throughout India and the United States. Mr. George was one of the founding member of the Chattanooga Christian Assembly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maryamma George and his eldest sister, Mrs. Deenama Chacko. He is survived by his three children: Thomas George and his wife Sabita George, Blessy George, Ruby Mathai and her husband Roy Mathai; three grandchildren: Breanna George, Amanda George, and Nicholas George; three brothers: V.T. Varghese and his wife Rachel Varghese, V.T. Samuel and his wife Annamma Samuel, V.T. Johnson and his wife Elizabeth Johnson; three sisters: Chinnamma Daniel, Marykutty Mathew and Kunjamma Joseph and her husband A.C. Joseph; and his brother in law V.M. Chacko, along with several nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Chattanooga Christian Assembly, 8100 Bermerwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421. A remembrance service will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at City Church, 7122 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
