Name: Roger Kent Burgess Date: June 2nd, 1955 - February 11th, 2010 Obituary: Roger Kent Burgess, 54, of Chattanooga died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at a local hospital of complications from pneumonia. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Roger was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, J. Worth Burgess and his grandparents, James J. and Effie Goodner McClure and Claude and Veona Burgess. Roger was a joy to all who knew him and to his family. Survivors are his mother, Katherine McClure Burgess; two special aunts, Eleanor Draper and Gayra Burgess both of Chattanooga; many cousins and friends. Services will be held Monday at 3 PM in the chapel with Dr. Larry Draper and Dr. Calvin Janssen officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery with Jerry Pearce, Ted Kirby, Jim McClure and Raymond Gross serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Agape Sunday school class of Woodland Park Baptist Church.
