Mr. Swanson was a U.S Navy veteran and a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Gertude Swanson; brothers, Harlan, Marvin, Ben, Dewey, and Bobby Swanson. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Swanson, Ringgold, GA; sons, William (Becky) Swanson, George (Misti) Swanson; daughters, Rhonda (Mark) Davis, Deidra (Jeff) Ransom; sisters, Martha Crawford, Kitty Self, Dessie Lou Swanson; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Nicholas, Sarah, Leah, Jeremy, Benjamin, Hunter and Jacob; four great-grandchildren, Jesslyn, Jay, Chance, Sadie. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Monday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Mason and Dr. William Swanson officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Gardens.
