He was an ordained Nazarene minister and had served as a pastor for 34 years. The son of the late J. M. and Bessie Woods, he was also preceded in death by his grandson, Drew Gibson, and brother, Roy Woods. Survivors include his wife, Rachel Woods, Rossville; children, Becky (Chuck) Adrion, Columbia, SC, Patty (Butch) Faulkner, East Ridge, Nancy (Keith) Jones, Ringgold, Robert “Bob” (Lisa) Woods, Jr., Newport, TN; brother and sisters, Joetta Bertch, Pauline Cummins, Ruth Ann Lakes, Mary Lou Mullins, Jimmy Woods; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 A.M. Thursday in the chapel with Rev. Ron McCormick, Rev. Myron Banther, and Rev. Eric Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
