Name: Monta Jean Halcomb Date: March 15th, 1931 - February 23rd, 2010 Obituary: Monta Jean Halcomb passed away Tuesday evening February 23, 2010. Monta fought a long battle for 7 years with leukemia, however she died suddenly from other complications. She was formerly from Corbin, Ky and Gray, Ky where she was born March 15, 1931. She was retired from J.C. Penny with 30 years of service and she was a member of Bayside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Arthur and Mellie May Martin and brother, Everett Martin. Monta was such a devoted mother and grandmother and was loved by everyone. She was granny to so many people who knew her. She is survived by daughters, Sharon Lee of Chattanooga,Tn. Sandra (Mike) Peppers of Ooltewah, Tn. Granddaughter, Brittany Peppers Blakeley and husband Tyler Blakeley. Great grandson, Kingston Maddox Blakeley. Brothers, Randel Odell Martin, Charles Martin and wife Carol. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday February 27, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady Cooper officiating.
