Irene Taylor, 83, Rossville , died Thursday, March 4, 2010. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mrs. Taylor was a true prayer warrior, who loved the Lord Jesus and her family very much. She was a longtime faithful member of Wallaceville Baptist Church and was the Secretary of the Crusaders Sunday School Class for many years. She helped start the Ladies Prayer Band and was well-know for the card ministry, adding her original poems to each card. Mrs. Taylor served along with her husband, Richard, on the Fellowship committee and Youth Committee. She also worked in Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “R.P.” Taylor, parents, Ernest and Nettie Cornelius; brothers, James Cornelius, Earl Cornelius; sisters, Sybil Kelton, Ruby Moore and Eleise Tilley; nieces, Ann Tomberella, Ester Pelosi, Wanda Parsons; nephews, Wiley Johnson; cousins, W. T. and Lillian Hailey.
Survivors are sons, Ronnie (Brenda) Smith , Kimberling City, Missouri, Wayne Taylor, Ringgold, Ga., Duane Taylor, Rossville, Ga.; granddaughter, Rhonda Wynona (David Jones, Chickamauga; grandson, Chad (Kristi) Smith, Nashville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Daniel Jones and Shelby and Sydney Smith; brother, Marshall Cornelius, Hayden, Ala.; sisters, Willie Merriam Johnson, Margaret McGill, Chickamauga, ga., Ann Cornelius, Ooltewah, Tenn; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; granddogs, Sister, Gunther, and Prissy;
Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Interment in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
