She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and a member of Delray Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Childress, and daughters, Peggy Louise Harp and Patricia Sue Spurling. Survivors include her son, Rev. Ronnie Childress, Rossville; brothers, Melvin Madaris, Ft. Oglethorpe, Bobby Madaris, Mobile, AL; sister, Betty Sue Saunders, Rock Spring; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
