Obituary:
Richard Babb Anderson, 72 of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, March 2010 at his residence. He was a life long resident of Chattanooga, a graduate of The Bright School, The McCallie School and Auburn University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, and completed graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Virginia. Richard served in the Air National Guard and was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church, where he attended the Morgan Sunday School Class. Richard was a former member of the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club and the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. He was a retired Executive with Wacker Chemical and had previously worked with various Textile and Chemical companies. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Anderson and Mary Ruth Babb Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Spratlin Anderson; sons, Michael A. Anderson and wife Tracy, Chattanooga and C. David Anderson and wife Cheryl, Florence, SC; sister, Jacquelyn Ingersoll, Ocean Shores, WA and three grandchildren, Leslie Anne Anderson, Clayton M. Anderson and Jonathan David Anderson. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, March 13, at the First Centenary United Methodist Church with Dr. David Harr and Dr. Dwight Kilborne officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to First Centenary United Methodist Church, 419 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37402 or to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Morgan Sunday School Class and the Chickamauga Investment Club.
