Obituary:
Hugh “Spud” Willingham, 79, Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010 at a local hospital. Spud was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Spud was retired from Combustion after over 30 years of service and most recently worked with B&B Plumbing. He loved working in his garden and spending time with his family. Spud is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Edna Willingham and brothers Tommy Willingham and RL Willingham. Spud is survived by daughters, Diane (David) Ownbey, Ringgold, Staci Willingham, Ringgold, grandchildren, Brooke (Kevin) Lewis, Tori (Ashley) O'Donald, Zac Ownbey, Madison Davis, great-grandchildren, Riley O'Donald and Molly Kate Lewis, brother, John Willingham, Rossville, sister, Ruth Horton, Ringgold. Services will be 11 A.M., Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lamar Dietz officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery.
