Mr. Burkhalter lived in the area all his life and retired from Combustion Engineering. He was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebeneezer and Nell Burkhalter, brother, Maxwell Irwin Burkhalter; sisters, Louise Perkins and Jerri Hartman. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Tommie Ann Burkhalter; daughters, Michelle Vonda Ann (Matthew) Cooke, Sandy (Carl) Clayberger, Martha (Tony) Carter; several grandchildren and sister, Carmen Burkhalter.
