Cody was such an amazing kid, he was so sweet and caring. I'm so happy that the 8 months that I was close to him were so amazing. I got to witness what an amazing person he is and how he could never stand to see me sad... His smile made my day and I'm so glad I got to spend what little time with him, he will truly be missed. I want to thank his family for letting me be a part of his life and for letting me share those great memories together. If Cody could read this, I would thank him for everything he has done for me and thank him for being a great guy. I felt like I've lost a piece of myself and my condolences go out to all the people who were blessed to meet Cody and see how amazing and inspiration he was. I'll miss you Cody and may everyone find peace. Please remember, there is no sorrow that heaven can not heal

Dear Duncan family, Please accept my family's condolences. We can only imagine your feelings at this time but do know the feeling of losing someone we loved. In time what brought us comfort are the words found at John 5:28,29 when there will be a resurrection of all our loved ones from death. Perhaps you will be able to think of the times ahead that will allow us to be together with our loved ones again on a paradise earth forever. Rev. 21:4 reminds us of this when tears, pain and death itself will be gone.
At this time these are just words but it is our hope that you will find comfort from your family and friends and the promises of our Father in the coming weeks as we did.

I didn't know of Cody but my daughter destiny smith loved him and said he was the best as a friend and taken back by what has happened. The family will be in our prayers. It's made me think to really charish what is right in front of you. Destiny loved him and can't believe she was talking to him one day and now unable to talk to him now.

Our hearts are heavy for the tragic loss. There are probably no words of comfort that could even begin to help the healing, but Cody loved God and there is no question that he is in Heaven right now happier than he could ever be. Cody was such a special person I knew him from church he loved worshiping God when I close my eyes I can still see him in the choir with all the other teens worshiping God to amazing grace or I want to live like that he was a inspiration to our teens he will be greatly missed and our love for him will never end we know Cody is up in heaven having a blast he has won his race waiting on all of us to get there so many has been affected by this tragedy and my prayers go out to his family and every one who knew him Cody u may be gone but u will never be forgotten. Cody was a great friend to me when we were little. I haven't talked to him since I moved a while back, but he taught me to stand up for myself. He was so sweet and kind and God has a plan for all of us. God has a plan for the Hughes family.

We cannot express our sorrow enough for your loss, it is something no family should ever experience, especially at the young age of 16 years old. I remember when Cody was born, the happy moments we shared. We are sad that Cody is no longer with us, but in spirit Cody will always be with us, each and ever one that knew and loved him. Shut your eyes and you will see him, fall asleep, and you will dream of him, look around and something will remind you of him. This is proof that Cody lives on!
