My apology, yesterday I listed parents names incorrectly, I know it is Judy but my only excuse is I had a migraine and I don't think clearly.

April 19, 2014 12:53 AM

It is ironic that two great men had the same name and I had the pleasure of knowing both. My grandfather, also named Eugene "Gene" Lowery, was a wonderful, loving, and caring man. He passed 4 years ago today. It is not surprising that Judge Gene Lowery was also a great man. I will miss seeing him and hearing his unmistakable voice and laugh throughout the halls of the courthouse. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Judge Lowery marry us 3 years ago. A milestone I will never forget as I am sure he performed many milestones for others. He will never be forgotten. Our prayers go out to his family and friends during this time. Craig and Carey Estill

So sorry for your loss. The outpouring of so much love, thoughts, and prayers has only reassured me of what a precious soul that Heaven has gained. What a day that will be (When My Jesus I Shall See) What a glorious day Gene had on the 16th. I pray the Lord will bring you comfort in the days to come as you begin a new journey without him. Looking so forward to that Glad Reunion Day! Gene was truly the example of what a good Christian man should be. He will be sorely missed in this community.

I remember when Gene and my brother(Spencer) would jump off our storage building pretending to be super hero's. I thought they were nuts! Now, I will remember him (not having to pretend) as a true super hero to his family, friends and to the residents he served in Catoosa County. He was a kind gentle spirit who always had a way of getting things done and making you just feel better by talking with you, with loving thoughts to his family , Mitchell and Naomi Gravitt

April 18, 2014 12:16 PM

I did not have the privilege of knowing Judge Lowery, but He was one of the speakers at my sister Joyce Williams' funeral. His kind words that He said about Her will always be appreciated. I will always remember him telling how they joked with each other and how she called him Y.H instead of Your Honour and he called her J.W instead of Joyce. I would also like to say that I enjoyed the testimony that he gave for Jesus Christ. Thru Jesus we have the blessed hope of seeing them again. I would like the family to know that my thoughts and prayers are with them during this very difficult time. May God Bless them abundantly.

A life and testimony that will always be with us. Charleen and Jerry raised him in the way he should live and he followed their example. All his family still have him in their hearts and good memories to remember. It is hard being separated 'for a time' from loved ones but comfort and peace come from knowing it is a temporary separation. Thank you Lord.

I will always remember Gene being my DARE officer in elementary school. He was always so kind to me and my family. My family was honored to have him be a pallbearer at my mothers funeral in 2007. He also married me and my first wife in 2006. A truly great man of God, heaven gained an angel. He will surely be missed and I look forward to meeting him again one day in heaven with Jesus. We stood on the track at this years Ringgold football home coming and you told me you found a lump and was going to see you Dr. . You told about your melonoma and how you had hoped that twice now they had gotten it all but you knew what was coming. You said either way it will be OK Reece. We will all miss you being around Gene, cause you have just always been around in my life time. I know that you are happier than you have ever been here on earth and boy that is pretty happy cause you had a bunch of fun. See you again Gene.

A true gentleman. I met Gene in Athens right after he came into office. We became friends early on,with a lot in common, having come from law enforcement and we both were in gospel groups. Gene had one of those magnetic personalities, which is such a great asset as an elected official. We will continue to pray for his wife and family during these difficult days. The citizens of Catoosa County have lost a great asset, the example of what every elected servant should strive to be.
